Level 4
| 8 MonthsSupporting individuals with their development goals
This learning and skills mentor programme gives these mentors the framework and tools they need to share this expertise with others.
You’ll develop the skills to offer one-to-one support and guidance in the workplace or training setting.
Learn to build trust, use active listening and questioning, and tailor your approach to individual needs.
Gain confidence in setting goals, giving feedback, and maintaining professional standards, with a strong focus on safeguarding and equality. You’ll also reflect on your own practice and work collaboratively to drive continuous improvement. By the end of the apprenticeship, you’ll be equipped to inspire, guide, and make a real impact as a mentor.
Employers will set their own entry requirements in order to start on this apprenticeship.
8 Months
On completion, successful learners will be equipped to share their expertise professionally and ethically with others in their organisation. They will be competent, qualified mentors in formal mentoring programmes and skilled guides in informal situations where navigating how the organisation works and what it values will improve engagement, retention and productivity.

Level 4
If an apprentice is aged 16-18 and has not previously achieved the required level of English and maths, they will need to complete Functional Skills as part of their apprenticeship programme.
While Functional Skills are no longer mandatory for adult apprentices (19+), literacy and numeracy skills remain essential for success.
For those without prior English and Maths qualifications, we recommend level 1 maths and level 1 English to support career growth and workplace efficiency.
Our tailored support ensures these skills are seamlessly integrated into the apprenticeship journey, helping every apprentice develop these vital skills.
The end-point assessment (EPA) includes:
Together with the apprentice, a personal learning and development plan will be agreed, setting a timetable of learning activities in preparation for the end-point assessment.
The Vocational Trainer will meet with the apprentice regularly either online or face-toface
to complete and review assessments, provide further coaching where required and agree the next steps of learning.
